Lack of Follow Up, Time Involved and Cost
On Thursday, June 13, 2019, Adept Appliance phoned reference an inquiry I made on Home Advisors about repair of a four-year-old Whirlpool (no bells and whistles) refrigerator that was not cooling below 60 degrees. An appointment date/time was offered and accepted for Tuesday, June 18, between between 11 and 3, On Tuesday the 18th two technicians came out—calling when in route. One technician was in training and spent most of the service call sitting at the kitchen counter on his cell phone, while the other technician disassembled the bottom freezer. This revealed ice behind the back panel—an indication the defroster wasn’t working. He said he would work up an order and the office would contact me. He collected $75 for the service call but said the $75 would be deducted from the cost of the repair, if Adept did the work. He left the freezer partially disassembled so i guess he assumed he would return for the repair! After a few days without a follow up call from Adept I called inquiring about the needed part(s)—and when to expect the repair. After a few days without a call, I phoned Adept and was told someone’s (don’t recall title) had to review the order first. I expressed my concern about having to follow up for status information and the office person told me she didn’t have the authority to make follow up phone calls. Several days later I received a call with the quote, which I approved and the part was ordered. I believe the part was referred to as an “operator”. On June 28 I spoke with Adept and an appointment was made for July 5 between 9 and 1. The technician in training, who spent most of the previous service call on his cell phone, returned with a different technician. THe new technician replaced a computer and 24 hours later the refrigerator seems to be working as it should. This technician was surprised when he thought he was finished and I asked if he was going to put the freezer back together! He asked if “they” (Adept) disassembled it and the training technician responded they did! My concerns with Adept are lack of follow up, time involved and cost. This repair cost almost $400! I don’t plan to use this company for any future appliance repair and I would not recommend them. One final comment—my husband phoned Adept yesterday, Friday, July 5, and left a message for a return call, which he hasn’t received.

Home Appliance Repair
I had multiple appliances to be fixed, Josh was very knowledgeable on all the products and had the parts needed in his truck to fix quickly. I was called ahead of my appointment time to make sure I was home and all work was completed in a timely fashion. I will use Adept again in the future

Adept Service very professional
they were on time and did a great job, Josh was our service tech and he new just what to do. Thank You Josh If I ever have to call for service again i will ask for you GREAT JOB
