Very Helpful I would recommend this company to others in a heartbeat!
Our business has been dealing with Armitage and Melville for over 15 years. We have consistently received great service. I have personally communicated with them on a regular basis during the year asking questions due to the fact that I am not an accountant and want to ensure we are completing our work in a way that is consistent with good accounting standards. I have always been treated respectfully, with patience and in a reasonable time frame.

Worst experience ever - these accountants made me feel like they do not care about small business at all. All this company cares about is making money for themselves - No client care at all! No helpful advise. Too busy to pick up a phone and communicate. I was treated like trash on the street - extremely disappointed, what a frustrating experience! My small business barely survived this.

The client in question has been a client of the firm for the past 5 years. It is always communicated to our Corporate clients that they have 3 months to pay the Corporate tax bill and 6 months to file the tax return. Therefore, we also tell our Corporate clients we prefer that they bring their files and records to our office a month and a half to two months after year end to avoid penalties and allow for Corporate and Personal tax filings. In this case, the client continually brought in their Corporate records after the payment and filing deadlines. This decreases the majority of the ability to tax plan and always puts you behind in tax planning strategies. As well, the client was notorious for taking their time paying our bill to them (well after the terms on the invoice). Therefore, in this last year end, we requested payment from an old outstanding invoice before starting the current years’ work. Our firm is a small business as well and requires payment for our services just the like the client does from their customers. We understand that the client has moved on and wish them the success with their business and future accountant. Under our Professional Rules of Conduct, we have already forwarded all the information required to their new accountant to make the transition smooth.

Very professional and efficient!
We have been using Armitage and Melville for seven years now. We started off with our personal accounting and now also use them for our small business as well. Kori and Bonnie have always been EXTREMELY helpful and patient with us, as we were new at starting our business and needed plenty of guidance in the accounting aspects of our business. I especially appreciate that no matter how busy they are, they always get back to us with a phone call or an email, and never make me feel like I am asking a stupid question (and I ask a lot of questions)! Everything is done in a very timely manner, whether it is personal taxes, quarterly GST, or corporate year end. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk through the door at Armitage and Melville. Kori and Bonnie always go above and beyond to ensure that our business accounting is up-to-date and running smoothly, and this, along with my previous comments, is why I would absolutely recommend Armitage and Melville to anyone looking to be completely satisfied with their accounting firm.
