Saved the day.
I woke up last Thursday morning (6/29) and my car started but my gear would not move so I called Cottman. They came and picked up my car in a tow truck and Andrew was very helpful. I knew that my extended warranty would probably not cover replacing the part needed but he called the extended warranty insurance provider anyway. Andrew was very nice to me every single time I called to check on my car. One time I called and someone else picked up (I forgot his name) but Andrew had already relayed my information to him so the guy knew who I was and my situation. Anyway, I received my car the next afternoon, right in time for the holiday weekend. When I came in to pick up my car everyone was very friendly and Andrew made sure I understood the warranty for both the part and the labor. This place was actually a little far away from me but the reviews seem better than other transmission places. I definitely would go back to this location again.

Transmission worked good for 6 months
Transmission went out in December of 2016 and I sent it to Cottman on south Saginaw. It cost me 2200.00 in repairs and it worked good until May of 2017. I was taking my son to school and transmission went out again, same exact way the very first time. I towed it back to Cottman and then given an estimate of 1100.00 more dollars. Was told by Andrew Taylor it is not covered by warranty. I can not afford over 3000.00 dollars in repairs for a 2005 chevy van with almost 200000 miles on it.

Vacation bad luck
In August we were vacationing in Michigan from where we live in Florida. Our transmission went out on our 2010 Chevy HHR with 60,000 miles. We contacted a locally owned transmission shop that friends recommended, but they could not even look at it for 5 days. We then contacted Cottmans. Because we were traveling, they put us ahead of the other work to be done, checked it out and found that the transmission was completely shot. They ordered the parts and 2 days later the car was repaired and ready to go. The bill was $3,661.50, which was a huge blow for us because we are retired and on a fixed income. When we went to pay the bill we told the owner that someone had told us the drive train should be under warranty for 100,000 miles. He made a call for us and found out that the warranty was for 100,000 miles or five years, whichever came first. The five years was up two weeks before, so the warranty was no longer good! We then proceeded on our vacation. A week later we were in Virginia when the transmission went out AGAIN!!! We immediately called the General Manager, Mark Marion, at Cottman and told him what happened. He got detailed information where we were and told us to stay put until he called us back. Very shortly thereafter he called back and said a wrecker was on the way to take us to a transmission shop. The wrecker showed up shortly thereafter and took us to AAMCO transmission shop in Charlotteville, Virginia. We arranged for a rental car and hotel and waited to see what would happen. The next day, Cottman overnighted a new rebuilt transmission to AAMCO. All communication took place between Cottman and AAMCO. They both made a bad situation as good as possible. 3 days later the transmission was done and we were able to get on with out vacation. Of course, Cottman paid for everything owed to AAMCO; we paid nothing. In addition, Cottman reimbursed us $200, which covered the cost of the rental car plus a small amount toward one night lodging. We again continued on our vacation and have had no problem since returning to Florida. We could not have asked for better service and, just as important to us, we could not have asked for a better attitude from Cottman throughout the whole process. Highly recommended!
