In my opinion
Yesterday I wrote my opinion of this business. It was not published because I crossed the line of terms of agreement. I will try to tone it down without profanity. I brought my pristine 1997 Ford that I bought new, it had 95,692 miles on it. It had a shifting problem. I dropped it off 12/1/2021.I got a call from them 1/6/2022 to come pick up my truck. It would not start. A mechanic came out to try and help. The service advisor told me that the problem was over the shops expertise and they would pay the towing bill to have it taken to the shop of my choice. The other shop told me that truck was really messed up. Once they got it started they told me that there was NO WAY that my truck was test drive. The transmission was 5 quarts low. The service advisor (Angelica) had sent me an e-mail that they had test driven it 3X times. I finally got my truck back from the new shop 2/15/2022. Out $4,494,43 for the trans and another $2,901.11 for a computer fix. Oh, did I mention that someone stole my catalectic converter while it was under the control of Cottman Transmission? BAM, an extra $900.00. All the service advisor had to say "Sorry about your luck". Please, please take my advice and NEVER! take your vehicle too this shop!

OK, in my opinion
Like I said, in my opinion. If you like getting ASS RAPED DRY take your vehicle to this place. I took my pristine1997 F350 crew cab with 94,000 miles on it to this place because it had shifting problems. They (the bitch behind the counter) told me to come and pick it up. I went there to get it, the truck wouldn't even start. The bitch (again in my opinion) told that they had test driven it and it was fine. She told me that they couldn't fix the problem and they would pay to have it towed to a shop that might be able to fix the problem. Well, I'm out six grand already, WTF I want my truck back. Add insult to injury, efing catalytic converter was cut off in their parking lot. Sorry about your luck the BITCH told me. She also said that she had heard that people were scraping the dust out of them and snorting it. Again in my opinion, if anybody was snorting that shit it would have been her and her inked out mechanic. IMO, I have never been treated with such disrespect. Six grand to them, another three grand to fix their fuck ups. Oh BTW the new shop told me that the transmission was 5 quarts low after they had finally driven it. Obviously, this shop had never test driven it!!!!

Transmission went out in my 08 F350
Great customer service. They rebuilt my trans and delivered in less than a week. Had some minor issues after the rebuild but they made everything right with no hassle what so ever. Even though my 6.4 power stroke has been upgraded for a substantial horse power increase ( Probably to much for any stock tranny) I lost it while I was in West Palm beach Florida with my toy hauler. I called cottman's and they warrantied the transmission and had a brand new tranny with a 5 yr warranty shipped to the shop in West Palm I definitely recommend this shop for any transmission needs and would not hesitate to have work done there.

The best
My transmission went out in my 94 Dodge and I thought I could trust a friend but he held my truck for four and a half months took part of the money he was charging me and destroyed the parts to my transmission I had barely anything for my transmission except for the casing and a couple of the parts everything in there was destroyed though I went to Cottman across the street from my work on 112th and I talked to the lady in the office do believe her name was Melissa and she said not to worry about a thing bring everything I have including the truck so I had my friend at happy camper Towing tow my vehicle there since my vehicle is 2 wheel drive and my transmission was a 46rh it was hard to locate Parts but they found them quickly put my transmission back together with the quickness and called me and told me to come get my truck I then drove it almost all the way home and something else went wrong my cooling system for my transmission decided to plug overheated the transmission and molded and welded everything together again I called the office at Cottman she said not to worry about a thing she'll send a driver out they picked up my truck and within two days they had a brand new cooling system separate from my radiator and was very cost-effective for me they worked with me they busted their butts to get the job done to satisfactory and I am 100% recommending that store out of anywhere else there transmission work even though my truck isn't the best truck it means a lot to me and they knew that and they took very good care of my vehicle and they took it very good care of me make sure that I was a hundred percent happy with the work my vehicle runs like a champ and it stronger than ever now thanks to Cottman Transmission on 112th and their team I want to thank everybody in that office and Shop for the dedication and hard work that they put on my vehicle and for whoever reads this I guarantee you they will make you satisfied before the day's out if you ever need work on your car that's the shop to go to customer service was excellent the work was excellent the speed of the work outstanding their whole team at that location had a part in my transmission repair and cooling system repair and there's not enough words to explain or Express the gratefulness and the happiness that I feel because of them they only have 5 stars on their webpage but I rate them a 10 if not more stars thank you to all and that shop and office you guys are the best

Bad workmenship & parts
I had my truck worked on by Cottman they rebuilt my transmission and replaced the clutch. when we got the truck back it was making a noise, I tuck it back in and they said to drive it and to let them know of any changes. well less then 7000 miles later the transmission went out and they would not stand behind their work. also when I had it repaired the clutch had less then 10% left. this should not be the case with less then 7000 miles! I would and do not recommend then to any one they have lots of reasons why this work was not quality but the bottom line is this cost me lots of money and they were not professional with their dealings with me. the person that I had the dealings with is Melinda Kriner she is the owner and she was the one that promised me that I did not have to be concerned with their work. I believed her! right up to the point that I was stuck in traffic with a horse trailer and horse in the trailer for 4 hours. then to be told that they would not stand behind their work.

Mr. Ed Carthell, As we discussed over the phone, the original repair was done on 5.16.2012 with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty whichever comes first. Since our location was under different ownership at the time of the initial repair, I do not have any original copies, as Kevin Safley was the owner, and took his paperwork with him when he left. I was his service writer at the time of repair, and was responsible for helping you through the repair process, and completing the paperwork on behalf of Mr. Safley. The terms however, were beyond my control. I soon left and went to work elsewhere after your first repair. On your following visit, 5/9/2014, one year outside of your original warranty, we investigated a complaint you had regarding noise. By this time, my father had taken ownership of the business. For customer service reasons, we went ahead and replaced the input bearing, as my technicians thought the vibrations from the engine could have caused that bearing to be noisy. We only charged you for the part, and we did all the labor at no additional cost to you. When you called in a month or so ago, saying you were having issues and the transmission was "locked up," I explained that I could not repair the vehicle for free since the original transmission issue was 2 years out of warranty. I would have worked with you on labor as we did with the input bearing but was never given that opportunity. I understand your frustration, but I think it is misplaced with me. In May, when you came back, I was not working here; it was a girl by the name of Angelica. We do look similar but are not the same person. I did not resume working at Cottman until 7/8/2014. Again, I want to reiterate that my father and I were not the owners when your original repair was completed and while we are willing to work with you in good faith, we cannot be held responsible for the promises of a previous owner, especially when the terms of even his warranty, have expired. That being said, we have honored all of the previous owner’s non-expired warranties without question. Please understand we do feel your frustration, but think it is misplaced. S.A.F.L.E.Y's CS, I believe is the name of the previous owner’s corporation and his name was Kevin Safley. He was the person responsible for the initial repair and its warranty since yours expired while he still owned the business. Please accept my apologies that you feel we did not take care of you as that was never the intention. Thank you, Melinda Kriner Owner/Manager

Cottman Transmission Center did a great job on our car. I like the fact that we could bring in our car once a year for the next three years for a Transmission check up. Now that's service!

I've been there a couple of times now. My first time they did a great job and I never had another problem with that car and drove it for at least a couple of more years before I sold it.
