Experiences & Considerate Dentist!
I would recommend Destiny Dental to anyone esp someone with Medicaid because they are one of the few good Dental Offices in Lansing area. Initially, I honestly wasn’t the biggest fan & found getting in for the cleaning more difficult than expected. Most of the staff were sensitive & kind to my (and others) anxiety about the visit. Dr. Churchman, I believe was my Dentist for my fillings & I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable he made me feel. The conversation was pleasant wasn’t forced, he was informative & I didn’t feel like he rushed or was inconsiderate of my pain.. which I had very little thanks to his experience & compassion for his clients. You can tell he cares & that makes things like this so much better. I really appreciate that they take Medicaid & that we found a place that cares about our community as well as each individual client they serve. Thank you again to Dr Churchman & his dental hygienist - that made my day :)

Dr. Churchman is amazing!!!
Dr. Churchman is the first dentist I've ever had the privilege to be seen by. He is the onky dentist that hasn't belittled, contradicted me, told me my pain or experiences were not possible, or in my head, and hes the first dentist to not lecture me about my teeth. Instead of acting disgusted over my embarassingly awful mouth, I'm in the process of full mouth extractions for dentures, he was kind, compassionate, and understanding. I appreciated him listening to my previous experiences, and issues and taking them into consideration when caring for me today. He talked me through a few things, warned me I might feel a stitch, and quickly and considerately apologized when a stitch down the line did. He remained calm when i wiggled, grunted, sweated, and my eyes watered like crazy from the very painful novocaine shot, having prewarned me that the area is more sensitive, once numb, he came back and did more, to make sure i was numb because sometimes the back of the gums doesnt get numb enough and he explained he didnt want to cause me much pain and torture. I never felt as if he were rushing through my procedure to just get to the next patient. No he wasnt like the last dentist I had at this office (dr.guam dr.guan something of indian decent) who would snap and break my teeth into shards being in a rush, I never felt Dr. Churchman shatter my teeth and I didnt feel him crushing them between his instruments either... Tonight Im sitting here, able to speak some, and not feeling like I'm dying... Extractions are hard on the mouth, and Dr. Churchman did his very best to make me feel like a human being, not some disgusting cockroach he'd rather step on than treat like the last dentist made me feel. I just cannot praise him enough, and i really appreciated how nice and gentle both him and his assistant were, they wiped the tears from my face, helped clean the blood from my face, the last dentist let me walk out looking like an assault victim, battered and bloody. So often we tell people what they do wrong and highlight the mistakes, that we forget to praise good kind acts of compassion and today was a day of compassionate dentistry that Ive never before known that has made me more at ease and not anxiety filled over the thought of scheduling my next appt. in fact I cant wait to have him finish all my extractions... THANK YOU

Great service
I work for a local non-profit that provides services to youth. The majority of my clients are on Medicad and there are not a lot of dentists in the area that accept Medicaid. I really appreciate that Dental Destiny does accept Medicad and they are always able to get my youth in quickly and have even been able to see them the same day for emergencies. Furthermore, the front desk staff are always really helpful meeting our documentation needs and have even made themselves available to help us find low-cost specialists for services they do not provide in their office. Dental Destiny really fills a gap in our community and I don't know what I do without them. Thank you!
