High quality
I went in to get a consultation for braces , the doctor was very thorough About what he recommended and for how many years . Then the financing lady came in, totally forgot her name but she was very nice and extremely professional . She told me how much imma have to pay for how many years , it sounded good so same day got my braces on . The women at the front desk are so nice and very beautiful! I highly recommend people coming to this dental office ! Very kind people all around ! Very excited to have business with them .

Poor Customer Service
This is the 2nd time I came into this office. My teeth are in bad shape, complete denture upper and lower. I had the same dentist since 2000 and he was amazing Dr. Pawl. My dentures fit well and he had put 4 comings in my upper jaw and 2 in the lower jaw so I would not lose bone. In 2015 my insurance changed so I had to go to another dentist. The dentist I went to in San Diego was all about the money. Even though I was not having any problems with my mouth, he told me I needed all new dentures. He then told me he needed to pull the coping teeth from the top of my jaw. I told him I did not want to pull the teeth because I would lose the bone. He told me they had to come out and I would not lose bone. I received both sets of dentures in September 2015. From the beginning my entire mouth shrunk and dentures did not fit well. The upper broke in less than a year. The 2nd time it broke I went in and the dentist was so flippant in attitude I just walked out with my broken denture. When I tried to talk to him about the bone loss he thought it was funny. In tears and without insurance I took my broken denture to my previous wonderful dentist. He was appalled at the way the set of teeth was made. He tr me I needed new dentures that would build up the inside of my mouth because of the bone loss. I did not have the money to afford new teeth at that time. In October 2017 moved to L9s Angeles County, sold my house moved into house my mother left me. No longer able to handle the denture situation, I made an appointment at Downey Dental. The first visit had me in tears. As much as I would love to have permanent implants, financially can not afford it, $45,000. The woman dentist would not even listen to what I was trying to say. The manager came in because I was going to leave. She told me she wanted me to be happy and sent in her best guy. He came in and appeared nice. Impressions were made and follow up appointment was made, $7,500.00 for a set of new dentures. The information i reported leading up to incident is to give reason for my extreme hesitation in dealing with dentists. My mouth has shrunk and there is nothing i can do to take back the fact that i just listened to someone because I thought they were professional. Went back for follow up to view my dentures in wax. The dentist walked in with my teeth. They looked horrible. Very crooked, small almost worse than the ones I already had. The dentist did not seem to have time for me at all. I was trying to show him what was going on, he even pointed out some things out of place. He handed me a small hand mirror and said write down everything that is wrong with them I will be back in 5 minutes. I tried to ask him questions and he cut me off saying I was going to drive to the lab 8n Torrance and the guy would fix anything that was wrong with the dentures. I again tried to ask another question he cut me off almost rude and said just write down everything that is wrong with the dentures, I will be back in 5 minutes. He left and I just sat there trying to hold the hand mirror while writing stuff down and looking at the dentures. I had no table just sitting in the dental chair. After 20 minutes he had not come back i asked someone walking by where he was. I could hear him working with another patient. Still no one! I finally said i need to leave i have other places to go. The dentist was rude to me but in a passive aggressive manner, very flippant. I told him I thought it was rude for him to leave me in the room on my own for 1/2 hour and work on someone else. I said I am not happy with this entire situation. I have an appointment and have paid a lot of money for the dentures. I don't want to feel like I'm on a conveyer belt being shoved through. Very cold no care about the consumer. I am already traumatized by the events prior to this interaction. I am paying to have my dentures made in such a way as to try to repair some of the damage already done. Side note...I am at the lab right now. Awesome people working here. Louise is busting his butt to try and fix my dentures. He told me he was sorry about the fact that they were messed up, but all he has is what the dentist sends him to work with. He has worked on my teeth for over 3 hours to made sure they are right and is very nice pleasant attitude. He is the one that should be getting any credit. Downey Dental Arts needs to remember we are not cattle or sheep and it is not just about the money. Sincerity along side care and concern that is genuine is the most important part of customer service. Something has been lost in translation.
