Fear of the dentist abolished in just ONE VISIT!
It took me FIVE years to come up with the courage to book another dentist appointment after a HORRIFIC experience left me terrified of anyone even looking inside of my mouth. In just ONE visit, my entire opinion has changed! First off, when I first called to make an appointment I reiterated the fact that I would be shaking walking in to the office due to my fear. Right when I opened the door to the building, before even entering the office I was shocked to see a sign welcoming me by name! Then as I walked in, both the receptionist and the hygienist who would be working on me were behind the desk and said "you must be Jena!" I said I was and I'm sure they could sense my fear because they both went out of their way to reassure me that I would be ok. It was much to my surprise that they did not accept my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket. (no fault of the dentist and completely understandable if you understand insurance companies) Because this came as an unexpected surprise and there was no way I could have walked out after I found the courage to walk in, the receptionist gave me a "first time patient" price and was so accommodating that she even was able to allow me to pay a portion of the cost over time, if I needed to. After filling out the paperwork, I was walked in to the room where I would be treated and on the chair was a wrapped present waiting for me! I was shocked! Secondly, in the past I was very very sick and for the rest of my life, before any type of dental work, I will have to take antibiotics in order to prevent infection which I am extremely prone to. Just thinking I was there for a consultation and not any work, I failed to take it before going to the appointment. Any dentist or hygienist could have said "don't worry about it" and continued on as if I were any other patient, but they showed such compassion and understanding by explaining to me that they much rather be safe than sorry and they would rather wait and stretch out the work that usually would take one visit and make it 2 or 3. For some, that may not be accommodating, but for myself and my health issues I was SO unbelievably grateful that they understood my risk, did not push ANYTHING on me, and was so gentle and kind that it brings tears to my eyes. I can not believe I waited so long to go to the dentist. Had I known that these were the type of people I would have been dealing with, I would have gone years ago and honestly regret not doing so! Before going to the appointment I knew that I would not be happy with what I would find out considering it had been so long and I repeatedly warned Kate that I probably had a cavity in every tooth, etc. (i really only had one in a wisdom tooth that I didn't even think I still had LOL). I told her I was mortified and I felt as though I didn't even belong in such a nice office and more so at a place where they just extract teeth and give you dentures. She reassured me over and over again to not be embarrassed and she has seen way worse in her career. I can not thank SOUTH WINDSOR SMILES enough. I literally have tears in my eyes thinking about their kindness, hospitality and their ability to make someone who was absolutely terrified in to someone who now cannot wait to go back and get my teeth back on track! Thank you so so so so much to Kate, Dr. Norige and to the receptionist who was the first smile I saw which brought me much ease. I can not express my gratitude enough. I am now a forever patient of South Windsor Smiles and would highly recommend to anyone!

Exceeded Expectations
As a new patient to South Windsor Smiles and someone who has never switched dentists before, I was a little nervous about the transition. After my first appointment, I left feeling at ease and impressed with how well the SWS team welcomed a new comer. Today, was my first filling appointment at SWS and I can definitely say that my expectations were exceeded! Dr. Norige did and amazing job as well as his assistant. The team at SWS are all friendly and very welcoming. I definetly recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist!
