What you’d expect
Overall I give Encore a 4/5... the only issue I ran into was scheduling delivery. But they were professional and did their best. I appreciate the customer service Desiree provided. We will recommend!

excellent customer service!
We were relocating from Illinois to Nevada and these guys gave us the best qoute. We were skeptical but it turned out great! They carefully moved and protected our items, they did not attempt to overcharge. And they took about 35 calls from us. Great customer service and value. Thanks Encore!

STAY AWAY!!! This company is a total scam and so unprofessional. They recently changed their name from Midwest Moving & Storage because they were forced to after posing after another more established professional company in the Chicago area. We got confused by the two and when we hired this company, we thought we were using the reliable well rated one. From the minute the movers arrived (wearing flip flops and no company insignia of any kind) I knew we were in trouble. I wish I trusted my gut and turned them away, but what can you do when you’re moving on a deadline!? They outsourced our storage to another company/warehouse in Las Vegas without explaining this (also a disaster of a business) When our items arrived of course items were broken-expected for a cross country move. But so many of the boxes looked like they were thrown and simply smashed with no care or respect. Worst of all THEY LOST SEVERAL ITEMS including several portfolios of artwork and a few boxes that have not turned up, almost a year later. This company has no process for finding lost items, their idea of inventory is putting a sticker on your items and hiring a mover who doesn’t know what the word inventory means (not kidding at all, she asked my husband and I what that word meant) Trying to resolve this issue has been a nightmare as well, the owner has the attitude that they have done everything possible and nothing more can be done. And good luck trying to get a returned phone call out of this company. JUST STAY AWAY!!! They would probably lose your items moving them across town.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY “ENCORE”
They picked up my items on March 23 from Michigan to deliver to Arizona on April 5th. My items did not arrive until April 14th. When they arrived they were in a large semi trailer truck which of course can’t make wide turns in a apartment complex. They the charged me an additional $250 to put my items on a smaller truck just to bring them to my apartment unit (rip offs). After already paying them a couple thousand dollars and getting the run around on when my items were to arrive (not the date that I specified) they had the nerve to charge me more money to do what I already paid them to do. Please don’t use this company and tell all your friends and family. This was the move from hell!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY!!!!!

Negligence and Theft!
Delivery was made on Nov 22nd and I had time to unpack a small amount. We were not to be in the home permanently until Jan 10th. I wanted a TV on for background noise so I started there. I could not find the Family room boxes anywhere which had all the wiring and such needed for it so I called Divine Movers, a broker I went thorough. They said make a list and wait until you have unpacked the whole home as things often turn up. Fast forward to January and we arrive for good and start unpacking the house. We commented on how badly they packed the boxes in the truck as many were squished or the tape rolled over and such. After unpacking the whole house, it is obvious that it wasn`t the packing but that our stuff has been rifled through and ransacked. Aside from the missing boxes of electronics, we have not mentioned all the broken plates, glasses, serving trays etc. that were not at all wrapped the way we did. In fact, many boxes were not even packed the same way we did them. I have OCD and am very particular in how things are done and these were not how we did them at all. Here is the big kicker... I HAD a 55" 4K HDR Samsung LED TV that was purchased last May. It was packed in a box as well. What ARRIVED was a Samsung 43" PLASMA TV that is many years older than what I had. That`s when everything clicked with me. The boxes were not poorly packed, they were gone through, likely starting with the Family Room boxes while looking for a Remote for the TV that they wanted to keep. This led to many electronics being stolen including 2 laptops out of the 10+ I own. I would normally assume that they thought I wouldn`t know right away due to the surplus I have of them but with this blatant theft, I doubt it crossed their mind. I have submitted a claim through their 3rd party claims unit and state they will do the right thing once it is finished. IT has been 2 weeks and the claim has not progressed past the initial review stage. I can see if this was a typical broken or missing item here but there is a targeted list of items inboxes and boxes from those rooms that are all missing. The retail of the claim is over $9K and we have found a handful of other things since like a suitcase and other things to carry good out with. I am told the Owners are aware and very angry, yet they have not spoken a word to me. A representative of Encore has stated they had not seen anything like this before so why would they not try to resolve this in a manner unlike before? This is THEFT, not a broken or missing item. I am washing my hands of this if I do not have a clear path to resolution on Monday an turning this over to my lawyer.

This company made my move an easy experience. I moved from Milwaukee to Oregon and all we did was pack and fly out, they showed up with a team and handled everything. I even paid extra to have them unpack and set everything up at my new house! Very reasonable price and just the convenience was worth every penny!

I'm not one to write reviews, but this is the first moving company I've ever used that actually did what they said they would do. The pick up and delivery was on time, all of my items were intact, and most importantly the price was actually what was originally quoted. So many companies tell you one price, then when they come to pick up your things it's an entirely different price and by then you really don't have a choice. I highly recommend their service.

I was dreading relocating for my new job and wasn't sure how I was possibly going to get all my stuff from Chicago to Los Angeles. But the long-distance moving experts at Encore Moving & Storage made things go as smoothly as they possibly could have. Not only was all of my stuff delivered on time, it was all clearly taken care of properly during transit, which meant a lot to me. You never know what you're getting with some moving companies, but I would use Encore Moving & Storage again, as well as recommend them to a friend for any long-distance moving needs.” “My move from Florida to Detroit was a long, drawn-out process that required the moving and storage of most of my personal belongings. As I slowly transitioned into a new job, I didn’t have time to figure out all the logistics of moving my stuff from the Sunshine State to the Motor City, nor the resources to store some stuff for several weeks while I complete the move. But calling Encore Moving and Storage was the best decision I ever made. They helped me move all my stuff and store what needed to be stored. It was a lifesaver!

I wouldn’t call myself a planner. Usually I kind of just go with the flow and adapt to my surroundings. But when it came to moving from Ohio to Washington, I knew there was going to be some planning involved. I didn’t know where to start but Encore Moving and Storage calmed me down and helped me work out the entire process. I’m someone who is kind of picky about having my personal belongings touched, so I was very happy when Encore told me I could pack my stuff on my own and they would just move it for me.
