'Handyman Matters' MATTERS
We have a 1934 home that was not well maintained the last 20 years & a variety of non-professionals doing a quick-fix for the 60+ years before that. Jon & Bethany were easy to negotiate a contract & schedule with & Cory, who did the work, was great. He comes in & gets to it and works hard throughout entire project. He did everything from hanging a cabinet to hold a large convection/microwave, installed a dog door, put up a cabinet in bathroom, mounted & hung our 46" TV, customized our wall unit to accomodate a floor heater, and the two biggest projects, painting g & ceiling. To paint, he had to mud, sand & attempt to cosmetically fix our plaster walls in the living room, hall & one bedroom & closet, then paint. It was hard work & looks really nice. We couldn't afford to knock all the plaster down to start over & drywall & this will work nicely until it doesn't. The house keeps shifting & it was our choice. We bought bare steel 2×6 ceiling (or kitchen backsplash) tiles for attaching with adhesive to our false ceiling in living room. When Cory opened the box, he spent a great deal of time thinking how he could do this, especially since it was real steel, not the plastic tiles that look like steel. After talking with me, we drove to all three Home Depots & bought all their stock of plastic (metal) tiles & edges. The result is, well, he said it, "elegant". He had to come by one afternoon, after starting another job, to finish up & do our two add-on jobs, the TV & wall unit. We've never remodeled, hired handymen or contractors for anything like this before. Our houses have been 8-20 years old. DO hire 'Handyman Matters'!
