I had a great day but no thanks to your event coordinator who wanted to be absolutely rude to my guests and rip drinks from their hands when they forgot they couldn't be outside. Weddings are supposed to be a day of love and it was soured by the amount of people that came up to me and the groom telling me how rude Harmony Creek staff was being to them especially the event coordinator. My officiant referred to her as "wedding planner" out of ignorance and she snapped on her. My officiant had rehearsed with the wedding party outside of the hall because we DID NOT have access to the hall the night before to rehearse and she got in argument with her saying we did it wrong. Lastly, the food was a big disappointment...whole baby carrots that weren't even cooked...rice was crunchy. Thanks for setting up, and hosting our event and letting us down with your customer service when it mattered the most.

Beautiful day and venue, terrible staff
I was recently a bridesmaid at a wedding held here on July 15th. While the set up of the ceremony and the room itself was gorgeous, the staff were unable to add anything of value to this special day. The Host was never smiling and very unfriendly. They were late letting us in and didn't answer any calls for half an hour to let us in. The "lounge" where the bride and bridesmaids were left to get ready had a single mirror with NO outlets even near it. No extention cords with the WORST lighting. The passive aggressive emails sent to the bride on her wedding day were also completely unacceptable. Dinner was served with wine, that was paid for by the bride, that was then literally taken out of people's hands mid pour once the bar was opened without warning. The head tables didn't get to have their own bottles and were constantly having to remind the staff that they had to check on us if they weren't going to leave us the bottles to pour ourselves. The bar also refused to let the wedding party, again the ones who paid for the alcohol, to do one round of shots together to celebrate after the ceremony. I'm not sure if these ladies thought that because we were in our twenties that they could treat us all with such disrespect, but hopefully they see this and understand how rude they were and lose out on some clients until they can't staff their venue with decent, friendly people. Even if you're tired or unhappy, you paint a smile on your face especially on someone's wedding day. Totally outrageous. I wouldn't recommend this place until they rethink their staff.

Wedding - Sept 2015
"Crystal, Dean & their staff were extremely accommodating when it came to our wedding. Even though it rained, they made the transition from outdoor Ceremony to indoor Ceremony, fast and stress free for us. We would recommend this venue for your wedding and next event."

50th Surprise Birthday Party
I held my fathers surprise birthday party at Harmony Creek Community Centre. We had an amazing experience. The mgrs. went above and beyond to help with the surprise and set up. As well as allowing us to use their in house Chef for the food. The Genesis Ballroom is beautiful with the large stage, that worked well for the country band we brought in. We would recommend this place to anyone for a rental. Great experience!

The people that run this place are highly un professional. The manager walks around the wedding in shorts and a dirty tshirt aquired out of a case of coors light. They make up any reason they can to not provide the services promised. If you want to have a terrible wedding this is definitely the place you want to hire.

Wedding was shut down at 10:30
The night was going great until one person walked outside with a drink (not on purpose). The Building Manager and Owner then shut the entire wedding down. The ENTIRE night, at 10:30. There was a subtle warning given in the beginning of the night; however the grooms mother asked the building manager if she should put someone on the door to keep watch he told her not to worry about it, then all of a sudden a mistake was made and they shut the entire night down. Now I understand that a wedding guest disobeyed the rules; however the managers should not have penalized the bride and groom. The bar could have been closed and the guest could have been kicked out. To shut down and entire wedding, a night that happens once ever.. is just disgusting. I have never heard nor experienced something like that and for that reason I will never recommend this place to anyone.
Response from Harmony Creek Community Centre
It's always unfortunate when an evening goes badly. We had an evening where multiple people were going outside drinking from their vehicles. However, the evening was shut down for other reasons, drinking outside was a minor issue. The first issue was having a groomsman yell at one of the food server who was only 15 years old. She was yelled at by 3 (Three) different individuals.. She was ONLY a server but was screamed at multiple times. She (server) not only was in tears, but called the manger because she no longer felt safe that evening. The second issue was having a number of guest trying to start fights with other staff members. One of our staff has a bruised face to show for the evening. AT NO TIME DID ANY STAFF MEMBER ARGUE WITH THE GUESTS. We are always hopeful that all events go smoothly, sometimes there are minor problems which are dealt with in a calm and reasonable fashion. However, when any staff member no longer feels safe at work, yes the police will be called in immediately. When the Police arrived, their suggestion to the manager was to shut the night down immediately. Unfortunately we sometimes have individuals that can turn any celebration into an unpleasant evening. We at Harmony Creek Community Centre will always go above and beyond for any and all of our guests. This is the first time in 5 years the police were called in for a wedding reception.
