Troubleshooting various mechanical problems: 1997 Chev Suburban
Tom Ihler and Associate did a careful and methodical inspection of a seeping top tank on this vehicle's radiator; leaking valve cover gaskets; and the discovery of rear axle damage to both left and right rear axles and bearings caused by age and corrosion. Since this 4wd vehicle with 211,000 miles on it still has a very strong engine and transmissions ( 2wd and 4wd), our family decided to proceed with all repairs suggested by Ihler Automotive. We will be returning again this month of December 2018 for further analysis of a odd noise possibly coming from front wheel hub bearings. (Another age related issue). Tom is using a systematic approach to discovering exactly where this noise is originating via use of microphonic, magnetic sensors which can be placed at random at suspected trouble spots since Tom's philosophy is to identify and quantify problems rather than simply replacing parts until the problem is fixed. A very professional approach! We are most pleased! Tony and Renee

I always get good service. Tom is very up front with me, as to the needs of. My car and gives good advice on how to maintain it so it will last me a few more years. I have already and will continue to recommend him to others.
