The green house is nice, but I would stay away from the landscaping side of the company. We went with them due to their schedule availability. Once they came out we specified some specific things we want done. We had some granite landings we needed set, A large rock set in the beds (rock site and showed to company) and metal edging expected by a professional company. They showed up a week and two days late with no bobcat to move the rock. Once they got the bobcat they were hesitant on the simple placement. We asked for metal edging they went with plastic. The metal was to allow the edging to be seamless and stakes to be hidden; also the stairs were not set as agreed on. Once confronted things turned… They replaced the metal edging and took off. . The next day we noticed the stakes were in backwards. The stairs are still not set, and the company states they will NOT be addressing this. It is beyond me how a company can miss all three key features we emphasized

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this review. We pride ourselves on trying to meet our customer's expectations, and work hard to make them happy with our work. I would like to reply to each of the “points” listed. I will begin by saying that the estimate accepted by the homeowner was for creating and planting 3 new garden beds. Of the “three key features” the reviewer discusses, none of them were included in the estimate. If these were the top priorities in getting this job done, then they should have insisted they be itemized and listed in the estimate. 1) The granite steps (placed in position by someone else) mentioned in the review were shifted into position by our landscaping crew to the approval of the homeowner, with no additional cost to them, as a courtesy. 2) The day we arrived to begin the job, the homeowner mentioned that they would be moving a large boulder into one of the gardens, and to please leave space for that in our placement of the plants. We agreed to do that, and continued to move forward with preparing the beds for planting. Later in the day, the second homeowner arrived from work extremely upset to discover that we had not brought our tractor. We did not need the tractor for any of the work we were preparing to do, as it was not needed to prepare the garden beds, nor to move the granite step a few inches and level it. Since it appeared to be so important to the homeowner, we agreed to bring the tractor the next work day at a nominal cost. We had no problem placing the boulders (it turned out to be two) into position and were not at all “hesitant on the simple placement” as is stated in the review. The homeowners left a sketch of where they wanted the boulders placed and we did so without any issues. The homeowner approved of the placement of the boulders, and then refused to pay the agreed upon additional charge for the use of the tractor. 3) The metal edging did seem to be a big issue. We almost always use plastic edging in our jobs that call for edging. Although there was no edging in the estimate, we did bring plastic edging with us to place between the drip edge and the new garden beds. We did not do this out of any disrespect for the homeowner, but simply because it is the type of edging that we usually use. When the homeowner returned from work, he got very angry over the lack of metal edging. We sent one of our crew to get the metal edging he requested, and re-did that section of the job. Again, there was no cost to the customer for the edging. When we were done, we did not “take off”, but we checked in with the homeowners and it was done to their satisfaction, as far as we could tell. The next morning, they noticed a few of the stakes had been set in backwards and let us know when we returned to pick up some machinery. We returned later that same day to remedy the situation. Finally, the comment that we showed up “a week and two days late” implies that we simply did not show up for this amount of time. In fact, the homeowner was called a week in advance of their scheduled work date and informed that we were running about a week behind schedule and would have to move back the start date. In this business, that often happens when something unforeseen crops up. The week of their job, we had another delay of 2 days. Partly due to having to wait for a delivery of plants that they had decided to change at the last minute, and partly due to a job that ran over. Again, not a “no show”, we let them know ahead of time. We are sorry that we obviously did not meet this reviewer's expectations. We pride ourselves in our work, and in making our customers happy. With over 65 years of experience on the landscaping crew that went to do this job, we have mainly had clients that are thrilled with the results.
