Awesome paint job. Great customer service. This is the second vehicle I have brought to this location. Both experiences were great.

Mixed Feelings
Took my Miata in to get painted. I also had two extra doors and two extra mirrors to paint. I had done all the prep work on the car and doors. They wanted $150 each to paint the extra doors. Since a Miata has about the same surface area as the front of a pickup, it wasn't like they were going to have to go out of their way with paint and labor to paint these doors. I wasn't too happy with that quote and chose not to have the doors painted there. Got the car home and stared to put everything back together. Then I noticed that the bottom of the front bumper hadn't been painted, the paint on the mirror bases was such that you could see through the paint and they did not mask off my chrome muffler tip so it is now half red. Overall the car looks good, but I did do all the prep work ahead of time. Had a better experience 7 years ago with the Maaco on Clay Rd (now out of business) and that's why I went back to a Maaco. Next time, I think I'll just practice my painting on my own.
Response from Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting
Sir, thank you for your input. We appreciate our customers and strive to provide as much value and quality as possible for each project. We apologize that you feel that we could have done better. I’m familiar with your vehicle. It is very unique situation being that you prepped your own vehicle, disassembled parts of it, and brought it us on a trailer. In addition, you had a very strict budget of $300-$350 and this was not nearly enough to complete the car correctly and in our opinion. This was communicated to you and you still requested the work be done at that price point. Based on what you asked of our trained estimator, your decline of our recommended services/warranty, the condition of your car delivered to us on a trailer, and the work you personally completed previously, we feel that we did the best we could with your budget. I’m sorry if you believe we should have painted your additional set of doors at no charge, but there are additional materials and labor associated with any of our services therefore, we cannot paint things for free. We feel confident that if you shopped around you would find that our shop offers competitive pricing and quality services as compared to other body shops in the area. We wish you luck with your future projects. Please let us know if we can be of any help in the future or feel free to stop by the shop and we can discuss further.
