Overbooking - Terrible Service
Went for 10.00 AM appointment, Receptionist asked me to wait in waiting area/lobby. Waited in the lobby till 10.35 AM, then I cancelled my appointment. Waste of my time. Please don't get Bluffed by their rating Stars.

Excellent staff and care
I was so pleased that my dental cleaning was pain free. My hygienist was the best. In the past my experiences hasn't been good at all. I will never be anxious about my cleanings as long as I go to Methuen Smiles. I also had a dentist appointment the week after and again was terrific. I have always had a phobia about the dentist but, not anymore. I actually don't mind going now.

Confidence Restored!
Dr. Mahajan has done a great job of restoring my confidence in this practice which went through a rough period after Dr. Gohel left. I liked him a lot and was sorry to see him go, but even more sorry when his successor did not meet my expectations. Then Dr. Mahajan fairly recently bought the practice and I could not be happier. My second visit was last week (semiannual checkup) and Dr. Mahajan herself cleaned my teeth. I do not remember the last time the dentist, not a dental hygienist, performed this task! She brought me up to date on the state of my dental health and we agreed upon what needs to be done in the future. Also, the office looked great ant the staff was friendly and attentive. Thank you Dr. Mahajan!

New dentist has taken over the practice
I have been going to this location for about 30 years for my dental work, and have seen the practice change hands at least twice in that time. My first two dentists were each here for about 15 years, did wonderful work, earned my confidence and trust quickly, and then worked hard to keep it. Dr. Gohel, as many have said, had a wonderful touch with his patients, and his office staff were friendly and helpful. When he moved to Ohio last year (because his wife had taken a job at a university there), he did tell me in advance of his departure, so although I was saddened I also knew it was coming. There have been a few changes since then: the long-time hygienist, Amy, had a baby and left so she could work part time closer to home. The new hygienist, Rita, had substituted for Amy while she had been out, and is still there. The office manager, Nellie, had an opportunity for a job with substantially greater responsibility, so she trained someone new, Laura, who also is still there. And the practice has been sold to a new dentist, Dr. Mahajan, who knew both Dr. Gohel and his wife. I had a reason to call them for an appointment this past week, and Dr. Mahajan familiarized herself with my records before my appointment. She listened to me, asked pertinent questions, showed me what she had found (both visually and on x-ray), and we discussed my treatment options. Because I also have a periodontist, she showed no hesitation about suggesting that I consult with him also. This made me feel very comfortable with her approach and her judgment. I have an appointment with Rita coming up in a couple of months, and I plan to keep it.

Terrible service
My husband and I joined this practice last year. After my 1st cleaning with Amy I inquired about services for my 2 year old who had previously gone to a pediatric dentist. I liked Amy and the staff so much I decided to make an appointment with Amy for my son. I arrived at the appointment which was at 9am with my 2 year old. As he is super young we hyped up the appointment all week and even that morning. After waiting 10 minutes past appointment time a woman named Rachel came out to get my son and noted she was filling in. I informed her his appointment was with Amy. She came back with the office manager and I explained I specifically made the appt. with Amy. My 2 year old wasn't going to see some woman I didn't even know and then see Amy next time....he is 2! You don't confuse a 2 year old or introduce random people each time to look in his mouth. I was told he could be seen at 9:50am. Um no, my 2 year old isn't going to wait another 35 minutes. Again, he is 2. It was supposed to be a 15 min appt. the office manager told me there was nothing she could do and was pretty rude about it. I asked to speak to the dentist and was told there is no dentist!!!!!!! Apparently Dr. Gohel moved to Ohio....without informing his clients. I was just seen by him in late April and this was now June 2. She told me oh we will send letters after he already moved? I would have never made an appt for my 2 year old if I knew he was leaving. Not to mention they are running a practice with NO dentist. So if you had an appt at any given time you wouldn't even see a dentist. After all this mess I told the office manager to get whomever she retired to on the phone and my son works see this temp lady but to get my records together because I was never coming back. The temp took my son and I in for his appt in which I had to majorly pretend all was well when I wanted to cry because young children vibe off your mood and reactions to events and people. In the middle of the appointment the office manager brings over the phone. No, I don't want to talk to her in the middle of my sons appointment???? Hello! So as I left I told them to have the manager call me...she didn't. I leave another message for her to call.... I receive a callback from a blocked caller id and a message from the manger who says an issue with your my son. Something about your husbands nothing about my manager can resolve your, she didn't, this is why I am calling you. Doesn't leave a phone number, instead tells me to call the office back and let them know a time I can be reached. What a shady business! So unprofessional. Very disappointing. A young child's first visits to the dentist can make or break how they feel about dentists going forward.

Saw me the same day I had a problem.
Dr. Gohel was able to take me right in and treat my problem. My tooth pain was awful, but he squeezed me in and made time to redo 2 fillings. My novacaine is still wearing off and I am hoping this solved the problem. His staff is always very caring, concerned, and professional. I am sure Nellie will be calling me to see how I am doing tomorrow just as she always does after I have work done. This is a great practice! They treat you like family.
