What I love about Ruby Canyon Dental is that all the employees seem enjoyable, pleasant and truly concerned with my condition and dental needs. I love that the doctor replaced an old cap and that tooth looks so much better now, and will be easier to clean. He also added filling to a discolored tooth, and for the first time in years, I think I can smile again. What I recommend: As a patient who lives with severe, chronic facial pain, and who's been through about everything when it comes to dental and tmj health, I know that shots hurt less when the numbing medication is inserted as slowly as possible. Also, if at all possible, please consider lowering prices, at least for more impoverished patients. My full disability income, after Medicare takes its premium, is a grim $405/month, which sure makes keeping up with dental care (and everything else) quite difficult. Lastly, because I must on a high dosage of morphine, one dental assistant repeatedly asked if I should drive, if I was safe to drive?. Initially I appreciated her concern, but by the time she asked a third time, I felt judged, misjudged specifically. Millions are fortunate not to suffer extreme constant pain yet they cannot fully realize that such strong medications work on pain. Only when such medications are taken by those who suffer no pain do they stimulate one's head and body in potentially addictive ways. In my case, despite uncomfortable side-effects (e.g., slowed digestion, etc.), I simply cannot function without my medication. it took long trial and error effort before my doctor and I found medication and dosages appropriate to my pain-level.However, because so many people choose to abuse opiod-based medications, people like me not only get wrongly judged, but regularly suffer more than necessary. Personally, I attended college for many years, and during those years (and beyond), I consulted with Neuro-Surgeons and Neurologists in four States, hoping to find a one capable of repairing my neck, which had been in horrid condition. Each doctor told me that my neck was "Broken (and) In Emergency Room condition," yet each also shared that he was not qualified to do the surgery I needed. Consequently, I needlessly suffered pain and related insomnia for 20 years due. Though I desperately needed pain-relief, because of the medication-abuse problems in America, I felt embarrassment and humiliation each of the few times I asked for pain-relief medication, as if I was just another seeking medications make me feel high, rather than for the real reason. And though I apologize for here being so wordy, I do suggest your employees not judge what they don’t understand. No one should have to feel guilty of not knowing his or her capabilities (ie., driving a vehicle) merely because pain-medication is a necessary part of his or her life.

Efficient & Professional Service
A dental hygienist makes or breaks the deal for me when it comes to dentists. I can schedule with my favorite & know I'll get great care that doesn't leave me hurting for a week. Love my hygienist!! And Dr . Derek is always friendly & swift - not rushing, but not wasting time. Communication between team members ensures I don't sit in the chair waiting for the Dr. to arrive & do the exam. Overall great care!

Excellent care
I had a few cavities filled, and the staff provided excellent care. They were very professional and I didn’t feel a thing for the entire appointment. It was the best experience I’ve had a Dentist appointment. Dr. Derek did a great job.
