Friendly, professional.
Entire staff and Doctor obliged my kids in every possible way. Dr. Marjoree was very good, skilled, she explained every enquiry I had in most convincing way. Kids were so relaxed and they happy to visit dentistry. I can’t find any problem at all.

The appointment was a reschedule—it was meant to be for fillings but the front desk helped me change it to a cleaning because I was due and wanted to confirm info I truly needed fillings or if they were suggestions (I was unable to confirm this with Dr. Castro at my last appointment). I appreciated the help rescheduling. The bad occurred when I got to my appointment, and the front desk person asked me in clear earshot of the whole lobby, if I had any changes to my medical record or medications I was taking. Absolutely no sense of privacy and completely inappropriate. I am a resident physician and this would be 100% unacceptable at my clinic (which they don’t do because it clearly violates HIPAA). I did have updates but I was not going to announce them to everyone in the lobby and front desk. Then, the dental hygienist, Sabrina, reviewed my records. Apparently at some point back in 2016, another hygienist had recommended I get a deep cleaning. This information had never been discussed with me and I had subsequent other normal cleanings without issue. She looked into my mouth and determined she could only do a deep cleaning. She then had them look up an estimate with my insurance. The total cost was going to be ~$650! The dental work from Dr. Castro was less expensive and something I had time to discuss and think about. She wanted me to move forward on an expensive and “necessary procedure” without any time to research it or figure out finances. She was willing to do part of the procedure the same day, which was still going to total almost $200! Essentially she refused to even do a cleaning, the thing I had been scheduled for and had done even after the 2016 comment. She offered a “polishing” but nothing more and my insurance would still be billed for a full cleaning. I felt like I was being extorted for money. I told her I wanted a second opinion from another doctor, which she seemed upset about but was agreeable. I then asked for my imaging records and she told me it could only be office to office, that I was not allowed to take them. I corrected her that, I know for a fact that I have the right to my medical information, and she said it wasn’t allowed. Luckily, the lady at the check out knew what was correct and forwarded me my own health information. Essentially, I had to get off work early to get a simple routine cleaning, only to be refused and instead upsold on an extremely expensive procedure. I am incredible unhappy with her service. I have had a few other hygienists there and have never had an issue, nor have any of them or the doctor, brought up the deep cleaning issue. Dr. Castro was friendly and helpful as well as the check out lady. The reputation I’ve heard online and from others is that the practice is overpriced, even for a dentist and even with good insurance, and so an incident like this just confirms that. I feel that the practice does overcharge for its services even though I like Dr. Castro and most of the staff.
