Terrible service, dishonest employees
Zero stars. Untrustworthy company - do not use them. Quoted move of $1600 turned into $3200. I saw the positive reviews - some of which were recent and decided to try them but completely regret that now. Unable to reach anyone helpful at the company and every time I asked for a supervisor, was told they were 'unavailable' or 'not working' that day, left messages with dozens of unreturned calls. No one ever called to confirm pickup time in advance, which was well outside the window promised - I ultimately had to call customer service when they finally opened on a Sunday and heard from the driver 6 hours past the promised pick up date. Still waiting on delivery - when I called two days ago, was told that it would be today or tomorrow, and when I called today, was told another week and reminded that the contract gives them 21 days. This means it will be at least 2 weeks for delivery of my belongings which were promised to me as a same day or next day delivery. For those scammed by this company, recommend filing a DOT complaint: https://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/NCCDB/Home.aspx I discovered after the fact that this company has 12 complaints so far this year with DOT (https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/hhg/SearchResults.asp?CNS=1&CN=&search=1&DOT=2411692&MC=&Submit=Search) and 2 with BBB. Every person I spoke with at the company was unreliable/dishonest/unhelpful and I would recommend not wasting your time or money with this company.

Avoid at all costs
http://movingstatetostate.com/ I have copied the website above to ensure accuracy of the company I am referencing. (Very similar issues to others. They make a habit of these practices according to the drivers) State to state provided a seemingly friendly and honest sales person who managed to secure us as clients. I was happy with choice and quote up until about 2 weeks before the move when trying to finalise inventory for accuracy and the said sales person was not getting back to me, then I started getting nervous. When he did finally get back to me, he "assured me I had no reason to be apprehensive" We were given a quote which I was promised in writing would not spiral. We were told over the phone and in writing that the "price per CF would be lowered to prevent the price spiralling". On the day of the move, once all our belongings were badly wrapped and loaded onto the truck, the quote was INCREASED BY ALMOST 50%! We were quoted a "concrete price of $4,800" ended up paying $9,397!! Needless to say we never heard another word from the sales person. The manager would not help me on the day, was uninterested, and the drivers wouldn't leave until we'd paid. We had flights to our new state the next day so had no choice. Our belongings took longer than indicated to arrive, and when they did arrive, we had many things damaged and missing items, including my husbands new guitar. The inventory written up by the dispatch team on the day was inaccurate with items listed incorrectly, for example, a headboard was listed as a "lamp". A large rug was listed as "a small soft thing" The manager of the company refused to talk to us and had his staff just keep brushing us off. We intend to take this further legally as we are down several thousand pounds without so much as an apology. If anyone wants to help put a case together of a few different experiences we'd be happy to hear from you. This company should be avoided at all costs and needs to stopped. Even the drivers seemed to agree the company are crooks and that "this happens all the time". I quote "2 bed apartments are always allocated 900CF and end up 1,500 / 1,600CF, they do it all the time" The insurance they provide is not worth the paper it's written on. The worst company I've ever personally dealt with. We also were told they do not outsource which is another lie. The drivers who delivered our stuff were not employed by State To State. Really upsetting and financially harming experience.

SCAMS AND LIES. A NIGHTMARE. DOT # 2411692, MC #: 829982
*Bottom Line* This is a disorganized, disjointed scheme with smooth-talking sales associates who are actually running a fraudulent TRUCKING company. NOT MOVERS. I found this company by submitting a quote request through an online site. I had several companies call me and give me similar quotes to move from OH to CA. The sales rep from State-to-State who contacted me was Dwight Wilson, and was very helpful and personable on the phone, assured me that our belongings were insured up to $20,000 and led me to believe that our belongings would be delivered within 7 days of pickup. They required a deposit, as well as a physical copy of my credit card and ID (strange). However, I really needed to book movers so that I could start my new job in CA in about a month, so I went through with it, thinking that I was working with a communicative and responsible company. Then Dwight fell off the face of the planet. We finally found a phone number that worked and after hours of roundabout conversations were put in touch with the driver would would be picking up our belongings. The driver was texting us with ETAs every day and then not showing up. We were told first that the truck broke down in Indianapolis and they had to wait for it to be fixed. Next day, we called again and they said truck was not fixed and now they have to wait for a truck to come from Cleveland. Next day, truck from Cleveland wasn't there yet. Next day, they were again coming from Indianapolis and were going to stay overnight in Cincinnati and pickup in the morning at 9am. 9am came and went and they said they were too tired to drive so were LEAVING at 12pm. At this point I called the Sales Dept and spoke several times with Alex Bettencourt, the manager of the Sales office located presumably in NJ. He called the Midwest Dispatch (in Chicago, I think) who had NO idea that this was all going on. The truck finally arrived late that afternoon (3 days late). All of this required my husband to take time off work every day they didn't show and request a NEW parking permit from the local police department and block off the street EVERY DAY. Fine. The movers who arrived immediately said our 500 cubic foot estimate was actually 900 cubic feet and asked who made that initial estimate. We said Dwight Wilson. He had no idea who that was. Regardless, we were charged double due to Dwight's inaccurate phone estimate. That being said, they did seem to do a good job of wrapping furniture and packing the truck efficiently. They marked each box and item on a list for inventory. The mover (Alex) said it would be 21 days until drop-off (VERY different from the 7 days I was lead to believe from Dwight). The paperwork they left behind had NO company name on it, and the fine print stated that they had 30 days from earliest drop-off date to deliver. **So, as it turns out, when you are asked 'what is the earliest date we can deliver?'--that means they will add THIRTY days to that date and that is how long they have to drop off your stuff.** Also, it said you must pay in full at the time of delivery regardless of if they damaged everything in the shipment. Yikes. What happens next is they take your stuff to a warehouse in Chicago, where it will sit until they presumably have accumulated enough stuff to warrant a cross-country trip. There is no tracking number. There is nobody who will communicate with you whatsoever as to what is happening while you wait and your stuff sits in Chicago. We were nearing the 30 day mark (which was 40 days after pickup), and tried calling to get an ETA. The Dispatch department (which is a separate location and phone number entirely, mind you) said they were coming in 4-5 days. The next day, we were called by the driver who stated they were coming in 24 hours. We were excited that they were coming "early" until the driver stated that he looked up our address on google maps and said there was NO way his semi would be able to maneuver into our apartment complex, so said we had to agree to pay AN ADDITIONAL $500 for him to rent a smaller truck on arrival to our city. It also had to be in CASH only. He stated that he was a professional and had been doing this for years and just knew it wouldn't fit. We were desperate to see our bed after over a month without it so we agreed. Upon arrival (5 hours late), he showed up in a U-haul and had hired a day-laborer to help unload, as he said he was just the 'trucker.' My husband had to help them. This is what our extra $500 got us. Then the other shoe drops. They forgot half of our stuff. No bed, half of our couch and multiple other furniture items were missing. The 'trucker' still demanded payment in FULL. We were told it would come in 3 days (July 21). Today it is JULY 26--6 weeks after pickup. I still don't have a bed and only have half a couch. Nobody will take responsibility for violation of the contract. Not sales, not dispatch. They all point the finger at someone else. A NIGHTMARE.

I've tried to call multiple times to speak with a manager, every time I've been transferred and hung up on. This company came and picked up all of my items on June 18th 2017. It is name July 24th 2017 and it is still not gotten to my location. The date it was due to be dropped off at my apartment was July 13th 2017. I haven't gotten any answers from any worker for them, and I'm starting to believe this is a scam and their screwing me out of my money. I've contacted every person that i could and it's done no good because all they do is beat around the bush and give me no info. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU'RE LOOKING TO BE SCREWED OUT OF YOUR MONEY AND NOT EVEN KNOW WHEN OR IF YOUR TRUCK IS GOING TO BE SHOWING UP TO YOUR HOUSE!!

Our experience was not like other customers you'll read in their reviews. We were quoted a price based on 60 boxes and three rooms of furniture. When the movers arrived they told us it would be $2000 more. Our manifest and theirs matched but they told us it was due to how much we had. They held our stuff for three weeks even though we moved in two days and they didn't bring everything but wanted full payment. They forgot to bring 4 book shelves, 1 desk, and $1000 worth of video game consoles. They also damaged $3000 worth of furniture that included chairs, a couch, and a Kimball Artist Console piano. The problem is their claims deal does it by the pound, meaning we might get $300 for our $4500 of missing/damaged property. Please price other companies that are name brands.

Avoid This Company
Company sent me an estimate through email for $1250. I thought that was low. I called them and we went through everything in the house and they estimated $2400, which was still the lowest bid I received. When the movers got there they said the house was 50% bigger than anticipated and I would now have to pay $3300. I was stuck because we needed to be out the next day. The entire time the movers were there the lead guy made it sound like this was the biggest house he'd ever had to move (it was 1200 square feet so I doubt it). They made it sound like our stuff would be in our new place in a few days. It took 2.5 weeks, which is within the contract, but still not what they implied. We tried to get a concrete estimate for time and had to call over and again during their regular business hours to get anyone but reservations on the phone. They seem to be good at taking reservations, but a little to busy on the delivery side. The guys who delivered our stuff were as nice as could be, but our stuff was totally trashed. 4 bookshelves and a desk did not make it here (which is great considering we had to pay for all that extra space). Our piano has its two front legs busted. My favorite chair is busted. My office chair and a dresser are missing wheels. Our TV stand was broken at the joints. Only one of our kitchen chairs can be sat on. Everything is scratched. The one book shelf that made it is cracked at the joints. The only piece of furniture not scratched, busted, or missing is our kitchen table. I legitimately feel like we've been through a fire. I will need to replace everything after having spend almost 3x what they originally quoted me for. I would avoid this company at any and all costs. They are owned by the parent company New Life Transport. I would avoid any of their companies our experience was so terrible.

The Worst Moving Company......Period
This company will bait and switch you. They will give you a quote through their Relocation experts. Once your furniture is on the truck you will get a new quote. My quote went from $1200 to $2800!!!!!!I I had a second location pick-up the very next day, AND THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP. The driver and I agreed on a 7am pick-up the next day...............AND THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! The stress this company put us through is unimaginable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Worst Experience Ever
Worst experience with a move I've ever experienced. Not only was the cost of the move twice as much what they quoted me, it took them over 5 days to move me less than a 100 miles. Dwight, "the relocation consultant" went through my inventory with me, reviewed the number of flights of stairs, explained that they would tell me if they would move us straight to our new location the morning they came to move us (which by the way is a ridiculous method) and then our movers showed up telling us he had scammed us on the way we would be charged. They rescheduled our delivery 4 times and did not call to inform us. They weren't even apologetic! I would have to call repeatedly to get someone on the phone. This company is a scam. If you check the google reviews you can see that they have less than 2 stars, they are doing something to their SEO so those come up and you can't see how terrible their reviews are. DO NOT USE THEM.

Service as expected!
Move was great from beginning to end. These guys helped my wife and I with the ease of stress which came about from this move. I promised I would write a review about it. Would definitely recommend them to anyone moving.

As a small business owner I appreciate good value for money, which was the tipping point for me when deciding on picking State to State Movers for my move. The quote I got from the company lined up with the rest of them, but their customer service was the best I came across while searching for a mover, and they didn’t disappoint for the rest of the process – arriving on time on both ends of the move, sticking to the price I was guaranteed and always with a nice attitude. I am very pleased with my choice and will definitely recommend this company.
