Unprofessional Staff
My dentist was extremely unprofessional. Before we were able to formally introduce ourselves she managed to make me feel uncomfortable. I sat on the operating chair for service, and my pocket lighter happened to slip out of my pocket. The dentist walked in, picked up my lighter, handed it back to me and said "Here's your crack pipe." I chuckled in discomfort at her inappropriate comment, and she proceeded to state that she "doesn't think anyone does that anymore. That was more like a 90s thing." I do not find this topic of conversation appropriate for a business environment, nor do I find her correlation of my lighter to a deadly, illegal substance to be humorous. I also cannot help but wonder if the root of her comment had anything to do with the color of my skin, or even the condition of my teeth. This uncertainty caused me to leave Stonehaven Dental with an intense feeling of self-consciousness. In addition to the unpleasant tone of conversation, I am under the impression that my dentist's assistant did not thoroughly examine my X-rays and my mouth during my first visit. As I recall, her assistant surveyed my mouth and X-rays finding no issues with my bottom right wisdom tooth. During my second visit, and after her questionable comment, I mentioned to my dentist that I was occasionally feeling discomfort at the bottom right of my mouth. She examined the area, and found that I have a huge cavity on my wisdom tooth, and recommended that it be pulled due to its current condition. She then proceeded to ask me "Did he not say anything about that tooth to you?" Well, no, the assistant she is speaking of said nothing about that to me. Had it not been for my own concern for my teeth, I don't feel confident that I would have left this clinic with better understanding of my current dental health. For these solid reasons, I can no longer support this establishment and will be reporting them to the Texas Dental Association.

An emergency visit that was very pleasant
I had been to a second dentist but was put on hold because of my "self-pay" status and was extremely pleased with everything about this office and dentist.

Thought something was going wrong with a root canal & crown...
I called because I was having tooth pain in an area that was worked on a few months ago with a root canal and crown service. I was seen right away...the same day. Xray taken at no costS...and no problems found. Must be because I grind my teeth at night. Was given some good advice and referred to a specialist to be 100% sure. I love this place and the wonderful people that work in it!
