A Great Place To Be
I'm relatively new to martial arts, just rounding the corner to one-year. Master Walker and all his instructors are extremely knowledgeable with years of experience. The atmosphere is very welcoming, with people of all ages and skill levels attending classes. Many times, youngsters who are 50 years younger than I am, but at a much high level will help me with something I am trying to learn---because that is the tradition and sense of respect that is handed down. Master Walker is a superlative teacher, who is very supportive, encouraging, and tough---but hey, martial arts are for people who are personal winners, not quitters. I highly recommend the Tai Chi Chun Institute.

Thank you for your kindness! You came to our school highly recommended, as well. I feel honored to be able to work with you, or any of your friends or associates that you'd like to invite, in our Tai Chi Chuan, Hapkido, or TaeKwonDo classes!

In regards to the Tai Chi Chuan Institute I'm reminded of a saying made by the original inventors of Democracy (the ancient Greeks), "In vain do you build the City if you do not first build the Citizen". I see that attended to every week at the Institute. Whether the student is in elementary school, or a retiree, the focus on establishing consciously viable person-hood, with principles applicable to every aspect of life, and not only to self defense, is at the heart of that training community. And for every success in training there the greater community benefits by having a physically, mentally, and morally stronger individual among them. Grand Master Daniel Ray Walker readily shares his rich experience with specific attention to the immediate needs of the student. That feature of the Dojon distinguishes it from an average 'black belt mill' where technical merit and rote promotion is standard. At the Tai Chi Chuan Institute we get to develop from where we are, as who we are, without merely conforming to formal expectations alone. The place breeds confidence, instills competence, merging discipline with fun, determination with caring, rigor with respect, making the habits of decent citizenship second nature.
