Told me price to fix the furnace. Told him I had to go to bank to get money and he basically hinted to take out more money in case there was something else wrong with the furnace. Nothing else was wrong with the furnace, but he charged like $70 more because he had to get the part and he's on the clock. He probably had the part in the truck and just went around the corner for 1/2 hour. I've come to know a heating and air guy since, and he said he should have had to part in his truck. It was a common part that gets replaced and he would've charged half of what he charged. I called about this extra charge and they did nothing. Well I'm doing something about it and leaving these crooks a review.

Called them out for a furnace inspection and received great service. Bob was prompt,professional and very thorough. Never had an inspection where the Tech asked about having a smoke detector or carbon detector which he did. Made sure I had changed my battery and noted on device when it needed to be replaced. When he left I knew I could look forward to a winter of warmth and if I ran into a problem all I needed to do was call Caltemp Inc.

I have been a customer of cal temp for 15 years and thought they did a nice job. However we had to call them on a weekend when it was 90 degrees outside. They are crooks and price gouged. Charged me 670,00 for about an hours worth of work including Installing a thermostat for 250.00. I told them to take their thermostat and shove it. I bought the same thermostat for 50.00 at Home Depot for 50.00. Very disappointed they would do this to a long time loyal customer. We are disputing the charges with credit card company. Will never use them again

I’ve used Caltemp twice now. The first time (a few years ago) they repaired another HVAC company’s mistake on my furnace and gave great advice and explanation as to what was installed incorrectly. I was able to get my money back from the other contractor because of the advice caltemp gave. I called again this week because my AC stopped working. I’m handy and like to do my homework. I was certain it was a failed condenser fan motor after I did my research. Bob arrived on time, greeted my family with a smile and remembered the help he gave a few years ago with the furnace situation. He checked the unit out and found a bad capacitor. He also identified we were low on refrigerant. The fan motor was fine! It would have been very easy for him to just say it needed a Motor AND the capacitor, doing research online I found they are usually sold together. He explained the repair would get us through the season at least, but that the unit may need replacement or further service in the next couple years as it was 12 years old already. Fantastic company with great people working for them. Personable, upfront, not pushy, honest and punctual. I won’t call anyone else for HVAC needs. Thanks!

The only company we use to service our rental property and our home. Professional, reliable and very knowledgeable. They will not try to “sell” you a service that you do not need, and they arrive on time! I highly recommend them.
