I am sorry my customer had this response, but there are two sides to every story! The first thing I did, was I went to the job on a Saturday, at regular hours, not overtime hours, and the pilot light was out, and a wire had fallen off the heat exchanger limit switch, we ran the furnace and there were no issues, but I did tell him he needed a new furnace, he called back a few days later, and there was a different issue. I went back to his house, at no charge, and looked over the furnace completely, and made a determination that it was too bad of condition to do any more repairs! The furnace is 30 years old, and in very poor condition. I told him I would give him a discount of $400.00 off to put in a new one. He just moved in, and has never had a house, so if he has been notified the unit is unsafe, and not worth repairing, and it could produce carbon monoxide poisoning, and he has little kids in the house, and he decides to call another contractor to fix it, and they will put their guarantee it will work, then that is his option. the fact I gave him that big of a discount, and was willing to put his job in front of others I already had scheduled, and he chose to repair it instead. And then he chose to put a negative review, I guess that is his perogative, but my customers know the truth.
