Helpful advice and effective craftsmanship

The positives: very nice and friendly handyman, arrived early. The negatives: we provided very specific instructions on what we needed done, included photos, links to products, all spec information, but my husband had to help out several times with lifting, reviewing instructions, etc. Could the hangman have done it himself? Maybe, but at much longer than the estimated time and he seemed to appreciate the help. It was a workday for my husband, so that level of engagement and assistance was unexpected. Also had a toilet paper holder installed the wrong way in a custom vanity (no fixing that), and that was after I had showed how it needed to be installed. Some mess left after hardware installation and marks on painted walls that we had to get out. Kitchen hood installation has a gap at the top that we’ll have to try to figure out how to fix or I guess live with. Mirrors and shelf installation went well, though.

Communication was great. My calls to the office were returned promptly and the technician kept me updated on the progress of my service the entire time. The technicians were friendly, on time And left the jobsite clean at the end of each day. It was a pleasure dealing with this business.

Andy repaired my gate simply but effectively. I showed him some future repair projects and he showed me how I could save money by doing them myself if I wanted to save money.

This was our first experience with the Ace Handyman Service and we were impressed, start to finish. We only had a relatively minor job, weather stripping replacement on the bottom of two doors, but it was beyond our ability due to physical limitations. I called Ace Hardware Home Services and they were very happy to help, no matter how small the job. They explained the procedure up front, including options I had available, and there was no "fine print" or hidden fees as I have experienced with other handyman services. One of the great things that goes above and beyond any other handyman service is they set a specific appointment time (not a "range" like 10am-2pm) and that is when they show up. We really appreciated this since we were not tied down for 4 hrs in which the handyman may, or may not arrive. This is particularly appreciated sine it was a small job, the type that usually gets bumped back when they companies are running behind. Our handyman arrive, exactly as promised, was dressed in an Ace Hardware shirt, had called ahead, and was clearly from Ace, not a subcontractor. Again, this was promised, but our previous experience made us somewhat skeptical. Ace Services came through exactly as promised. Our little job was carried out in accordance with the options I signed up for, was completed in the time frame promised, and absolutely was the quality we expected from a company like Ace. I was also pleased with the total cost which, frankly, was less than I had anticipated.. The bottom line is, we were very pleased with the entire process, found that Ace Handyman Services keeps their promises, and will absolutely be calling on them again when the need arises.
