Sir, we apologize if you felt we were too brief in the 25 minutes we spent with you going over your wood deck and would have been glad to spend as much time as you would want but it appeared everything was addressed after the rep asked if you had any further questions and you thanked him. We truly care about you and take the time needed with any client. We know you may have been disappointed and frustrated that the deck is so bad we couldn't do a quick fix or band aid but as explained to you it would not be in anyone's best interest to not to fix any supporting wood underneath as well. This is from a safety concern and not wanting you to waste your money. Unfortunately the aging of the deck, and appearing never to have been sealed has taken its toll on the wood, added on to that its location on the ground and exposure to high levels of moisture and possibly insects over the many years out there. As we explained and demonstrated, the deck is visibly falling apart and replacing just the boards that are visible without replacing the rotted supports underneath would be a disservice to you or any future homeowner since you are thinking of selling the home and wanted to get it listed quickly. This deck has decayed beyond repair. We recommended several alternatives to be helpful with your situation including the removal of this small deck to assist you with the cost and selling of the home.
