When our craftsmen arrived, there was tape on the wall where the items were to be hung. Upon unpacking these items there was a large mirror that was broken during transit and could not be hung. We believe the frustration over this issue that we had no part in outside of being the bearers of the bad news, could have colored the rest of the experience. After having hung each item, the craftsmen called this customer in each time to look before they moved on. The count of having items moved 2-3 times and 3 times is highly disputed. The right mirror was 3/8 of an inch lower than the left mirror that was just over 6’ away and was brought up to match - once. The left mirror was shifted slightly not requiring additional holes. The hardware. This is a lot to unpack but for our review readers we shall respond. Yes, our craftsmen used the specific mounting hardware provided by the manufacturer of the mirrors. The reason why the stud bolts were not used for the TV was because this customer had VERY specific placement of where the TV was to be located directly between the two mirrors, that were also an exact distance from two dressers on each side that did NOT align with a stud so that specific fasteners (Heavy duty drywall anchors) needed to be purchased to make her vision a reality. This left the stud bolts because having mounted the TV on a stud as the manufacturer recommends did not align with her very specific and measured out vision for this work. For clarity, this expense was $10 for four heavy duty drywall anchors and our craftsmen explained why they were necessary. The customer chose to take down the mirrors hung per manufacturer guidance but left the TV that was not hung as the manufacturer recommended due to specific requirements to fulfill specific dimensions that were a higher priority than being able to secure to a stud. At her initial complaint call we provided the discount on top of an already discounted rate and our intent was to offer to go back out and repair the drywall and make the customer happy once we were able to debrief with our craftsmen. However, when offered follow up jobs that afternoon both craftsmen declined and requested an early day. It was not until the next day that we were able to have individual conversations with each of our craftsmen and found out that they opted to not take additional work because the morning experience was so miserable and separately both of our most easy-going craftsmen requested to not be assigned to return to this customer. At this point we decided that it was best to wrap up any current or future relationship with this customer. In conclusion, yes we use the provided hardware that engineers and manufacturers provide as our preference when possible. When the customer wants something very specific we work our best to accommodate and find ways to make it work. We try our best to please our customers and work our tails off to do so but sometimes as above it is not always possible. It is never for lack of effort on our part and through this experience even this dissatisfied customer agrees our craftsmen remained courteous representing the Ace Handyman Services we are so proud of.
