Highly experienced professional on time service

I have had many help or creative experiences with Handyman Matters. My favorite creative experience was the building of a 10 foot wide book case by Paul. It is gorgeous! My most recent help experience was a rescue of a 12 foot wide closet in which a 12 foot wide pole and shelf collapsed atop clothes and shoes! Paul anchored the same materials in a reliable and safe way. Handyman has done many jobs for me, both large and small, with equal care, skill and speed. That's why they are my Go-To!

We started using Handyman Matters last year after we "lost” our Handy Man who had been handling small projects for us for over 10 years. Little Johnny from Louisiana finally retired approaching age 70 and while allowance for his having a "cold drink" occasionally on the job was an understood requirement we thought that we would really miss Little Johnny. One early job we asked Handyman Matters to complete was replacing the shutters on our windows. A guy came out and provided an estimate which we approved so they completed the work - but - the two shutters on the driveway side of the house had been overlooked. We pointed out the shortcoming after returning home and discovering the oversight fully expecting that the original quote would be increased for completion of the work. To our surprise, the Owner of Handyman Matters personally returned to our home with the Technician, the work was completed and he refused additional payment when offered because I could understand the area being missed. I was impressed. Handyman Matters has completed several other small projects for us like rehanging a fence gate but we had never used them for a significant portion of work. They came and looked at the two rooms with cracks in the corners and one ceiling, provided a quote and last week they began work. This was my first experience with Duane but after minimal discussion I knew that this guy "knew his stuff". He completed the project spanning 3 or 4 days, exceeded our expectations in all areas and was totally professional in all aspects of the work. When he finished, he cleaned up all the "mess" then sat down to do the invoice. Given the quantity of work involved, I was expecting an increase above the amount originally quoted. Not so! We were charged exactly what we were told when the estimate was completed. We were impressed enough that Duane is returning next Wednesday to hang 4 outside lights and to do general "touch up" through the house we are preparing to sell. Being an Engineer by degree, this is a sad thing to admit but until I discussed problems with external brick cracks with Duane I always thought that brick walls were load bearing. He explained that they are strictly decorative and since he seemed so knowledgeable I asked him to provide a quote for doing the repairs. What I am about to say, really increased my confidence in Handyman Matters. After looking at the job and returning to discuss with Owner Ron Willis, I received an email saying that the job was beyond the scope of work they are willing to accept. My wife and I have owned 3 different businesses and know how hard it is to say "no" to a job you know you have "on the hook" but exceeds your employee’s capabilities. That screams integrity to me. Summarizing, going forward Handyman Matters will have "first shot" at any work we have to do and for good reasons. If you ask them to do a job that exceeds their expertise they will decline, if they quote a job the work will be completed for the quoted price, employees will behave professionally and are trustworthy so if we need to leave them alone in our home we do so without concern. Some may read this review and think that Ron Willis must be a relative or close friend because of its length but that is not true. After owning the businesses, we know that when you do a great job the customer may tell one or two people but if you screw something up the customer will tell everyone he sees for 6 months. Paul Weaver was my handyman. I had a lot of miscellaneous things I needed done. He handled all of them neatly and efficiently. He did an especially great job on the sheetrock repairs. The cost was very reasonable and I will most definitely use Handyman Repairs again.

I discovered that the lower boards on my siding were rotting. I contacted 5 handyman companies to get estimates. Handyman Matters contacted me the same day. They sent Craig out to do estimate. He was on time and very knowledgeable. His estimate was VERY reasonable so I scheduled Craig to do the work. He was in time for appt and did an AMAZING job. I am extremely picky and am a little OCD on perfection. Craig scored an A+ in my book!!! When I need a handyman I will not hesitate to give Handyman Matters a call!!! Craig carefully removed the bottom portions of my siding surrounding my entire patio approx. 40 ft. He cut away the rotted boards behind the siding. He also had to remove window trim. He replaced the rotting boards, installed new siding (bottom two rows) and put everything back together. The only thing I did not have him do was paint the new siding (as I decided to paint the entire back of the house). He caulked everything and made sure I was 100% satisfied. I was!!!! Although it took a couple hours longer than expected (that was due to finding rotted boards behind siding) I was not charged a penny over the estimated price. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL SERVICE! P.S. Only 2 other handyman companies contacted me but they contacted me AFTER Craig had completed the job.

This company came highly recommended and has lived up to all the praise they have received. I hired them for ceiling retexture and painting, ceiling fan installation, light fixture installation, and outlet box replacement. They came in under the proposed schedule and budget. They worked fast, efficiently, were on time and cleaned up everyday. I was extremely please with the quality of the workmanship, reasonable pricing and the friendliness of the staff. I have many more fixer upper projects to do in my home and I'm excited that I've found such a reliable company to work with. I will definitely use them again.

Paul was early, got right to work, and wasted no time completing my task list. He was competent, courteous, and answered my questions. I will definitely use Handyman Matters in the future. There is a great need for a reliable service like this. Just wish it had a smaller price tag!

My handyman arrived on time and did quality work which had to meet VA lending rules for the buyer of my home. The repairs were so good it was hard to tell where they were after paint.

I have used them twice and am very satisfied. I had a column in my garage that was incorrectly repaired a few years ago. This column shifted and caused the garage doors to come off the tracks. Craig did a great job removing the entire column, building a new column, and getting my garage doors working again. He also repaired a hole in sheetrock, cleaned the gutters, replaced a fence post, and fixed a leaking outside faucet! I will use again when needed.
