I wholeheartedly would like to share my experience with ACE Handyman Services; Dan Bomgardner. Dan was on time as expected. We engaged in a brief review of the expectation and was able to respond to the questions I asked as well. Dan demonstrated total dedications to his job and has pursued every available avenue to insure that I had a clear understanding what was needed to complete a quality job. I was very excited about the progress made and the quality as well. I have greatly enjoyed my experience. Thanks.

Ace Handyman Services was willing and able to take on a difficult project that took several visits to complete. Handyman Jon covered several tasks including removal, tile repair, installation and plumbing. He was hardworking and patient with the various problems that always seem to crop up with updating fixtures in old houses. Kudos to dispatcher Crystal, who had to keep scheduling visits in a timely manner with Jon’s busy schedule to get this job finished. Took more time and money than originally anticipated, but the results are worth it. Recommend Ace highly!

Dan was great at answering any questions I had. Work performed was completed professional and most importantly correct. He was also very personable and completed the project within the timeframe that had been specified. I had never used a company like this before so I was very apprehensive about the outcome. I definitely made the right decision by choosing ace.

Matt sized up two requests: replace ceiling panels in Florida room and suggest options for repairing flood damaged shed. Matt explained options for ceiling replacement to which I agreed. It was a difficult job but he persisted and has renewed my workroom! Before leaving he also checked that the exterior of a window was stable. He is very pleasant and business-like!

Patio clean up/power wash and wood trim replacement. Very professional and efficient. Even arrived early and explained everything he was doing. Will use again.

Quick, efficient, and made everything easy in finding the problem and getting the work set up. Ace hasn’t started the work yet but the experience is good so far.

Time expected to complete task was 1 hour but took 2 hours. Not a major problem but did cost more. Job task completed and I was satisfied with work performed. Also, when billed I ask for my military/senior discount but after I looked at my invoice it was not listed. This cost me an additional $27.00.

Dan, the handyman who worked at our house today, is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. He swapped out old lighting for new fixtures in 5 rooms; swapped out old, plain, unframed mirrors for a new mirror in one room and a medicine cabinet in the other. He also removed two light fixtures on our upper landing and replaced them with new ceiling fans with light fixtures attached. Unfortunately, the task we originally called Ace to do and was in greatest need of having done by a professional was replacing the light fixture in our foyer. The ceiling of the foyer is approximately two and a half stories high. It was this task that led us to accept a full-day service agreement. The need to have the foyer light replaced being our primary reason for calling someone was discussed in-depth during my first meeting with Dan. He assured me that Ace could rent the necessary scaffolding and long ladders needed to reach where the lamp fixture was mounted to the ceiling to install a new fixture. When I called the day before Dan was scheduled to arrive, I inquired about Ace securing the scaffolding and ladders. The representative I spoke with was unaware of the need to rent this additional equipment. She informed me that the company from which Ace usually rented extra equipment had lost its 16-ft ladder. She was not sure if there were other companies from which to rent the needed equipment. The two of us agreed to try to think of places near East Hempfield that might be able to provide the equipment to get the foyer job done today. About 30 minutes later I called and left a message for the representative, telling her which Home Depot stores in the area rented the equipment and providing phone numbers for two of the stores. The person I spoke with guaranteed me that the message would be forwarded to the representative I had been working with. Imagine my disappointment when Dan arrived without the equipment needed to change the light fixture in my very high foyer! That was the reason we called Ace Handyman Services to begin with! Dan got to work and worked steadily throughout the day. With an hour left on my full-day service contract, he said he was going to call his office to see what to do. I noted that the hour to hour and a half that remained could be used at a later date when Ace was able to acquire the necessary equipment to complete the primary task, replacing the light in the foyer. Someone at the office decided instead to remove the cost of equipment rental and some of Dan’s time from my invoice, which I do not feel is enough of an accommodation considering Dan could not complete the primary task for which we entered the agreement with Ace. Being very tired and in pain from recent surgery, I wasn’t up for a fight over the phone with Dan’s superior. If I ever again enter an agreement like the full-day one I entered into with Ace Professional Services in which there is one overriding task to be done, I will have a liquidated damages clause added to the agreement to ensure the primary task is the first one addressed completely. My recommendation of the business is due to Dan’s work ethic.
